Shri Narendra Modi assumes office as 15th Prime Minister of India

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi was sworn-in by President of India Shri Pranab Mukerjee at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on May 26, 2014. His swearing-in was followed by the Cabinet Ministers taking their oath of office. He assumed office as the Fifteenth Prime Minister of India on May 27, 2014. .

As per press reports, Prime Minister Shri Modi had received a call from Netherlands Prime Minister Mr. Mark Rutte.  Congratulating him, Netherlands Prime Minister said the Netherlands\' connection with India is 400 years old and had its roots in Surat.  He said that he had been following the general elections in India and the popularity of Mr. Modi. He added that he looked forward to meet Mr. Modi at the earliest and expressed the hope that, under his leadership, cooperation between the Netherlands and India would grow in leaps.
