The Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying (MOFAH&D), Government of India has already informed you that on the occasion of World Fisheries Day, the first edition of Global Fisheries Conference 2023 (GFC-2023) would be organized from 21-22 November, 2023 at Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
- GFC – 2023 is an initiative of MoFAH&D to accelerate growth in the fisheries sector through investment and larger engagement of varied stakeholders across the Fisheries and Aquaculture sector including government officials, policymakers, missions, ambassadors, academicians and researchers, scientists, experts, R&D, institutions, investors, manufacturers, export councils, associations, financial institutions, etc. GFC is significant stride towards realizing India’s Fisheries and Aquaculture vision by bringing stakeholders on one platform to explore mutual interests and opportunities.
- MOFAH&D has also sent invitations to relevant resident embassies for this event. In addition, they have given the following contact details for any further details that you may require in context of the event: Mr. A Antony Xavier, Fisheries Development Commissioner (fdc-india@dof.gov.in) and Mr. V. Srinivasa Rao, Director (srveeragandham@ord.gov.in).
- MOFAH&D has requested MEA to urge our relevant Missions to consider encouraging participation from the countries of accreditation. Foreign delegates could come from the industrial associations, policymakers, investors, fisheries institutes and other stakeholders as delegates and exhibitors.
- We would request you to kindly give due attention on eliciting participants for the first edition of the Global Fisheries Conference 2023.
