Ambassadors of India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka in the Netherlands came together to pay tribute to late Pranab Mukherjee, former President of India in an online memorial meeting on September 04, 2020 in The Hague.

The memorial meeting was held jointly by the Embassies of India and Bangladesh in The Hague.

H.E. Venu Rajamony, Ambassador of India to the Netherlands who served closely with President Mukherjee as his Press Secretary during 2012-17; Ambassador of Bangladesh to the Netherlands H.E. M. Riaz Hamidullah; and Ambassador of Sri Lanka to the Netherlands H.E. Sumith Nakandala spoke during the memorial event. Former Vice Mayor of The Hague Municipality Rabin S. Baldewsingh was also one of the speakers in the event.

The speakers fondly recalled and praised President Mukherjee`s immense contribution towards humanity, justice, democracy and South Asian cooperation.

H.E. Sheikh Mohammed Belal, Managing Director of Common Fund for Commodities and former Ambassador of Bangladesh to the Netherlands also paid tribute to late President Mukherjee during the event.

The memorial meeting was joined by members of Indian, Bangladeshi, and Sri Lankan communities in the Netherlands.
