Embassy of India to showcase Yoga and Dance at the Embassy Festival in The Hague on September 2, 2017

A special stall to be set up to provide information on the Overseas Citizens Card of India (OCI) scheme, upcoming activities of the Embassy and other schemes of the Government of India for overseas Indians

The Embassy of India will participate in the Embassy Festival to be held on September 1 & 2, 2017 at the picturesque Lange Voorhout in The Hague.

The Embassy will put up a stall to reach out to the public, and provide information on the OCI scheme, its various upcoming activities as well as special schemes of the Government of India for overseas Indians. Indian students will also be able to register themselves with the Embassy at the stall.


The OCI scheme is a special privilege provided by the Government of India to persons of Indian origin who are foreign citizens which provides them with a lifelong visa to India as well as a permit to live in Indian for an unlimited period of time and work in India.

Indian cuisine, culture and Yoga will be showcased at the Embassy Festival.

Mr. Amit Khanna, a yoga teacher at The Gandhi Centre in The Hague (under the Embassy of India) and Mrs Shikha Khanna, a professional yoga teacher from India will demonstrate yoga on September 2 (Saturday) at 12:30pm. Chrada Sheoratan, a Bharatanatyam dancer will perform at 16:10 on the same day. Bharatanatyam is one of the oldest and most popular forms of classical dance originating from the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu.
The Embassy festival is an event providing audiences with opportunity to explore music, culture and cuisine from across the globe. Countries will be represented by their Embassies and programs will be held showcasing varied forms of music, culinary delights, theatre, literature and art.
