Roorkee Water Conclave at IIT Roorkee during February 26-28, 2020

Please find below information on "Roorkee Water Conclave" organized by Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee.   The first edition of the Roorkee Water Conclave will be on Hydrological Aspects of Climate Change and it will be held at IIT Roorkee during February 26-28, 2020.

Since its establishment in the year 1847, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee has played a vital role in providing water resources related technical manpower and know-how to a large number of countries in Asia and Africa.In addition to 12 bachelor’s degree programs, the Institute offers 55 graduate programs in Engineering, Science, Architecture, Planning and Management.​The institute has several world class laboratories and highly qualified faculty working on different aspects of water and its management.

National Institute of Hydrology, a premier research Institute of the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Govt. of India, is also located in the campus of IIT Roorkee. Another institute - Irrigation Research Institute (IRI) of Govt. of Uttarakhand is located close by and has been involved in research and development on various facets of Irrigation Engineering.  Thus, Roorkee town has a high concentration of academics, scientists, engineers and managers working in the water sector.

Taking a cue from our legacy and strength, IIT Roorkee and NIH Roorkee have jointly decided to start a bi-annual Roorkee Water Conclave.

Keeping in view the importance of the potential impact of climate change on the water sector, the first edition of the Roorkee Water Conclave will be on Hydrological Aspects of Climate Change and it will be held at IIT Roorkee during February 26-28, 2020.
